For his first solo museum exhibition in the US, Nick Relph presents his video Thre Stryppis Quhite Upon ane Blak Field (2010), first shown at the 2011 Venice Biennale. The film connects the history of tartan with the Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons and the artist Ellsworth Kelly. Relph’s interest in the material and social effects of objects is further explored through a new series of Steinway piano templates.
